Freenet revisited

I've been taking a look a at the Freenet Project again. It took around a day to upload the 200 MB of WikiLeaks' Collateral Murder video. Let's see how long getting it out again takes...

Insanse frequency of dynamic DNS updates on MacOS

I'm using dynamic DNS (the adult version from RFC 2136, not a la DynDNS), and for a while now I've been seeing my laptops with MacOS 10.6.x churning out updates every 10 seconds. And seemingly redundant updates at that, as the IP is more or less stable.

The lowest time-to-live that MacOS pushes on the entries is 2 minutes, so I have no clue what's going on...

Thank you, Bugzilla, for wasting my time. In case it's too small for you to read, I've been using <vs+...> as my address for ages to separate different accounts. You would be surprised about the immense number of websites that have absolutely NO CLUE on what a proper email address may look like. Sheesh.

Update: I don't want to add insult to injury, and should mention that the Eclipse webmasters manually reset the password and are investigating what's going on.
